High Contrast

A High Contrast image is one that will have deeper shadows and brighter highlights than an image with a wide dynamic range.  If you looked at the histogram, it would have distinctive peaks. This is the opposite of a Low Contrast image which would have a full range of tones.

You might a shoot a high contrast image due to the lighting, or edit one to get this effect.
