ASA

ASA is an acronym for “American Standards Association” and was the industry standard for rating a film’s ‘speed’ or sensitivity to light.  This was eventually taken over by ISO (International Organization for Standards) as a way to unite a few different systems (ASA, DIN, ISO, BSI).

Many photographers who shot a lot of film will still use ASA and ISO interchangeably.
