Depth of Field


Depth of Field (DoF) describes the range of sharp focus in front of and behind your main point of focus.  Depth of Field is dependent upon the lens aperture. A smaller aperture creates more Depth of Field.  Depth of Field falls roughly 1/3 in front of the point of focus and 2/3 behind it.

Depth of Field can be used as a creative tool to make more interesting photos.
