DSLR

DSLR is an acronym for Digital Single Lens Reflex and describes a type of camera which uses a mirror to reflect the scene to a viewfinder.  The mirror flips up when the photo is taken to expose the sensor.   A pentaprism is used to correct the mirror’s reflection.

A DSLR is similar to an SLR (film), but uses a digital sensor to record the image.
