TIFF

A TIFF is a type of image file.  It is a ‘lossless’ file as it doesn’t lose data when it is saved.  Some cameras allow you save as RAW, TIFF (.tif) or JPG. In general, TIFF’s are larger files (much larger than JPGs) and have their place in the digital workflow, but if you are saving a large file from your camera, RAW would be preferable.
