Vector

A Vector image  is made up lines, arc and circles and determined as relative points and paths.  This is the opposite of a Raster image, which is made up of pixels.

Unlike raster images, vector images can be enlarged to any size as the lines are defined in the file and not dependent on individual pixels.

Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD are examples of vector based software programs.
